CMA launches French Peak Service between Asia and Europe
CMA launches new French Peak Service. This special seasonal service is designed to meet the high demand for sea freight between Asia, Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
From June 30 to early September, seven additional 7,000TEU container ships will be deployed on the route every two weeks, departing from China and calling alternately at destinations in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean region (Le Havre and Antwerp in Northern Europe; Mediterranean for Foss, Malta).
The French Peak Service consists of two alternate loop lines, which operate every 15 days and call at:
Yantian - Vouton - Singapore - Le Havre - Antwerp - Return to China
or
Shekou - Taunton - Singapore - Marina Foss - Malta - Return to China
The first flight of this seasonal route will be on June 30, 2024, and will be operated by APL OREGON from Yantian Port.
With this unusual move, CMA CGM will increase available capacity by 25 per cent on relevant routes with high demand at the start of the peak summer season, helping to ease the pressure on maritime capacity supply.
In addition, the seasonal route will have an additional bi-weekly call to the port of Le Havre or the Port of Fos-sur-mer (alternate calls), which will particularly strengthen capacity to the French market and better meet the needs of French importers and exporters.
The launch of the new routes highlights CMA CGM's ability to quickly adjust routes. In the context of major international shipping routes are blocked, CMA CGM will actively respond to customer needs through this initiative to provide strong support for customer supply chain management.
