Recently, according to Shenzhen Customs data, Shenzhen's import and export in the first quarter was 1.02 trillion yuan, breaking through the trillion yuan mark for the first time in the same period in 10 years, a year-on-year increase of 28.8%, accounting for 50% of the total import and export value of Guangdong Province in the same period.
Among them, imports were 377.85 billion yuan, an increase of 29.9 percent, and exports were 642.44 billion yuan, an increase of 28.2 percent, ranking first among foreign trade cities in the mainland.
According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2024, Shenzhen's imports and exports to the top ten trading partners maintained growth, and ASEAN maintained its position as Shenzhen's largest trading partner, with imports and exports of 165.64 billion yuan, an increase of 38.4%, accounting for 16.2%.
During the same period, imports and exports to Hong Kong, the European Union, the United States and Taiwan ranked second to fifth, with an increase of 15.1 percent, 10.3 percent, 23.3 percent and 6.3 percent respectively, while imports and exports to South Korea, Japan, India, Australia and the United Kingdom also achieved rapid growth, with the top 10 trading partners accounting for 74.9 percent of the total.
At the same time, the countries that jointly built the "Belt and Road" increased significantly, with imports and exports reaching 367.82 billion yuan, an increase of 35.1 percent. Among them, exports were 228.84 billion yuan, an increase of 47.5%, ranking first in the mainland in terms of export scale and growth rate.
In terms of the types of products exported, Shenzhen exported 438.99 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 14.4%, accounting for 68.3% of Shenzhen's total export value in the same period.
Among them, the total export of mobile phones, computers, and household appliances was 83.66 billion yuan, an increase of 17.8 percent, and the export of labor-intensive products was 86.16 billion yuan, an increase of 61.7 percent. Among them, textiles and garments were 26.14 billion yuan, up by 51.7 percent, and furniture was 13.26 billion yuan, up by 135.9 percent.
In addition, with the support of Shenzhen's policy of empowering the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries with new quality productivity and actively promoting the high-end, intelligent and green development of industries, the "old three" foreign trade products such as electrical appliances, clothing and furniture have taken on a new style.
In the first quarter of this year, the import and export volume of Shenzhen's cross-border e-commerce exceeded 110 billion yuan, an increase of more than 95%, and the scale hit a new high in the same period, and the scale of Shenzhen's cross-border e-commerce industry continued to expand.
