WHL and ONE cooperate to open a new route between the United States and West
In partnership with Ocean Network Shipping (ONE), Wan Hai Shipping will launch PS6, a direct service connecting eastern China and the West Coast of the United States, in February 2025 through a ship sharing agreement to enhance the trans-Pacific network of the two companies.
The port of call of PS6 route is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Long Beach, Auckland, Shanghai, Ningbo.
Wan Hai said that with the addition of PS6 routes and the adjustment of AP1 routes, it will enhance its trans-Pacific route network to provide customers with more and better transportation options to meet the growing market demand.
Wanhai, which has been focusing on the Asian regional market, is constantly increasing its layout on the trans-Pacific route.
In the second half of 2024, Wanhai has officially announced 28 new ship orders, with the purpose of replacing the fleet with new ones. Some industry experts believe that Wan Hai large-scale order to build new ships, do not rule out the intention to expand the size of the European and American route fleet. The above experts said that 20 of the 8,000 to 8,700TEU ships ordered by the Sea are expected to be flexibly put into operation on the US line according to demand.
