Roger Guenther, executive director of the Port of Houston, said: "Houston's economic development, consumer demand and industrial activity, driven by energy, manufacturing, technology and population growth, have all grown significantly, which has played a key role in driving the increase in port throughput."
On the hardware front, in June, the Port of Houston took delivery of six tire gantry cranes (RTGS), the fourth of five shipments the port plans to receive this year. Since December 2023, Port Houston has purchased 26 new RTGS.
