2M alliance Asia-Europe route adjustment

On August 6, 2M alliance members Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping jointly announced that the upgrade of Asia-Europe routes will take effect in week 32.

The 2M alliance said that by adjusting the port of call, the continuous congestion of European ports will be alleviated and the transportation time of Asia-Europe routes will be guaranteed.

The upgraded routes include AE55/Griffin, AE6/Lion and AE7/Condor, with specific adjustments as follows:


AE55/Griffin

The 2M alliance cancels the connection of AE55/Griffin route to the Port of Le Havre and increases the connection to Yantian port. After the upgrade, the transit time between Saltpan and Felixstowe will be 35 days, and between Saltpan and Rotterdam will be 40 days.

The adjusted route was carried out by MSC Vandya from Voyage 432, which made its maiden voyage from Shanghai on 5 August, calling at: Shanghai - Ningbo - Xiamen - Yantian - Tanjong Parapas - Felixstowe - Rotterdam - Tangier Mediterranean (Tanger Med) - Hong Kong - Shanghai.


AE6/Lion route

After the route upgrade, the transportation time between Ningbo and Le Havre will be 43 days, and the transportation time between Shanghai and Le Havre will be 40 days.

The adjusted route was carried out by MSC Michel Cappelini from Voyage 432, which made its maiden voyage from Ningbo on 6 August, calling on the following ports: Ningbo - Shanghai - Yantian - Tanjong Parapas - Sines - Le Havre - Antwerp - Felixstowe - Aleciras - Singapore - Lin Chaban-Ningbo.


AE7/Condor

The adjusted route will be operated by SS "Maersk Horsburgh" from Voyage 433E, calling at: Ningbo - Shanghai - Nansha - Yantian - Tanjong Palapas - Colombo - Tangier Mediterranean (Tanger Med) - Felixstowe - Hamburg - Antwerp - London - Tangier Mediterranean (Tanger Med) - ABU Dhabi - Jebel Ali - Ningbo.

In addition, MSC has decided to adjust the call order of its independent route Britannia Service.

The revised route was carried out by MSC Trieste's Voyage 433, which departed Shanghai on 7 August, calling on the following ports: Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantian - Vouton - Liverpool - Rotterdam - Hamburg - Antwerp - Le Havre - Cape Calais - Port Louis - Singapore - Shanghai.
