Cma CGM strengthens its presence in the Indian market
Cma CGM has announced the launch of its new BIGEX 3 and BIGEX 4 services, complementing the existing BIGEX 1 and BIGEX 2, to provide the most comprehensive and fastest direct connectivity between India, the Middle East and the Red Sea. Both weekly routes will provide first-class transit times and the best refrigerated plug capacity to meet trade requirements.
BIGEX 3 calls directly at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Salalah and Jeddah, via Jeddah for cargo from Port Sudan and Aqaba, while BIGEX 4 connects two ports in India with Dammam and Umm Kasar, with export cargo limited to Dammam.
The maiden voyage will take place from Nhava Sheva on February 23 and 25 respectively.
In short, the alliance restructuring, resulting in the launch of Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd's Gemini Cooperation maritime network, led to Hapag-Lloyd's decades-long VSA decoupling from CMA CGM, particularly on routes from India to the United States and Europe. From a broader perspective, the independent expansion of CMA CGM's services to the Indian Red Sea route will not only capture niche regional or regional markets, but also mean that CMA CMA CMA is "reformulating" its growth plans in India.
